Reading:
Math:
Social Studies: Juliette Gordon Low and her positive character traits and contributions.
Science: They will be developing an understanding of the patterns of the Sun and the moon and the sun’s effect on Earth. (shadows)
Writing: They are writing opinion pieces and stating reasons that support their opinion. We are also modeling and writing letters.
Language Arts: We are reviewing adjectives & adverbs and using them correctly in complete sentences. They’ll also be learning about shades of meaning of common verbs and adjectives. (example: tiny, small, microscopic/ jog, run, dash)
Phonics- The OG strategies taught will help strengthen their reading and spelling abilities!

Supplies needed for STEM: paper boxes, newspaper, paper bags, toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, shoe boxes, tape, and paper plates
Reading:
- Daily 5 stations are continuing :1)Read to Self, 2)Read to Someone, 3)Word Work, 4) Work on Writing , and 5)Technology
- We’re focusing on comparing & contrasting different versions of fairytales
Math:
- Partial Sums. (adding three & four two-digit numbers)
- One and two-step constructed responses (word problems) using addition & subtraction within 1,000.
- Solving word problems involving dollar bills, quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies.
- Adding/Subtracting within 1,000
- Telling time by the hour & five minute intervals
